Big things to come in the new year

The new year started out right this past weekend with great shows in Kent, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh. Our good friend Kevin Carducci flew in from California to play with us and the people we met were just awesome. We're nothing short of thankful for all of your support.

Some big changes are in the works for us in 2008, the first of which is a brand new website design, keep your eyes peeled for that. We've got a great touring schedule coming up and also keep an ear out on folk radio stations as bunch of DJ's have started to spin 'As the Stars Gather Light'

We've gone through quite   a shuffle heading into 2008, but coming out the other side with the help of so many good friends has us more excited than ever to continue doing what we love.

Thanks so much...

-David

Summer Came and Summer Went: New album, Caffe Lena, Seven Mary Three! DogFish Heads and Bullfrogs!

This summer has been an incredible time for us. We've had so many great oppurtunities to play shows all over and have met so many good people along the way. We can't wait to start our touring season this fall. We've got shows coming up all over, from Meadville to Kentucky to Maryland and back again. And we just got word today that in early winter we'll be playing Caffe Lena, where among others, Bob Dylan and Arlo Guthrie used to sing.

But the biggest news for us is that this summer we finished our first full length album 'As the Stars Gather Light' and we're proud to announce its release at the end of the month.

These are truly exciting times for us, and if you get a chance to check out a show please do, and if you know folks in some of the towns we're visiting, let them if know if you can.

Erie, The Recipe, Andy's Album

First off, thanks to the good folks who came out and supported our show at The Docksider in Erie on Saturday, it was one of those moments for us when the hands on the clock slow down and stop and things are right. Thank you. And thanks to The Recipe, who beyond completely rocking out are also fantastic people. We've got a very big show for us coming up this Friday at Andy's in Chestertown, MD, 9pm. If you're in the area we'd love to see you, if you're not and know someone who is, let them know if you can. Tomorrow we start recording an album... yes!!! And we've got a new blog up, read at your own risk.

Dave

Cleveland, Goshen, Miller Time, Dubuque and Des Moines, Head West young man (and an album too)

Right now we're on the road heading west towards the Wakarusa Music Festival in Lawrence, KS. The Iowa forests are only knee high right now and it feels a bit odd to be able to see for so many miles, but the people here have been great to us. Thanks so much to the people who came out to our shows in Cleveland, Goshen, and Dubuque, we had an awesome time with you folks.

Check out our myspace for a blog about the trip and some new pictures that we'll be adding soon. Oh yeah, we're heading into the studio as soon as we get back from the tour to record our first full length, full band album... we're excited. Hope to see you soon on the open road.

West Virginia, He-man, Harrisburg, and Baltimore

We just got back from a mini tour down to West Virginia, Harrisburg and
Baltimore. Dave kept a bit of a road journal and has been posting it on
our myspace at www.myspace.com/thegypsydave

Thanks to everyone who came out and showed their support at our shows,
we really appreciate it. We worked out some new songs on the trip, keep an
ear to the streets for those.

There's electricity in the air, and we all feel it. We're real excited
about these new songs and the people we've had the good fortune to meet on
our travels. Hope to see you all again soon.

Sincerely,

Gypsy Dave and The Stumpjumpers

A Fresh Look on This Cold Day

Welcome! Well, we’ve finally done it. We went out and got ourselves a virtual place to call our home and it’s all decorated and everything! We couldn’t be more excited to start off the New Year with our new place here, and it’s especially nice to be moving in out of that below 0 cold outside. So this is it, where we’ll be keeping all of our news, our pictures, our tour dates, our ever changing biography, and all of that good stuff from here on out. And since the rent’s cheap, we think we just might stay a while. Check out the tour dates and fancy pictures and if’n you’re having fun, click the contact button and send me an e-mail.

The month of February is going to be a transition month for myself and the band. I’m busy booking shows for the spring/summer/fall, and writing too-- keep an eye out for some new songs. Kristel has been working on things like this website, as well as other design and photography projects for some of her actual paying clients (if only I had a real job…). Jared’s been busy parenting young Lucas and still finding the time to frequent dirty lo-down bluegrass and punk shows so that he can use the can with the washboard player from the Hackensaw Boys. Phil’s hanging out down in Pittsburgh at Duquesne and still slapping that bass around like only he can. And our recently added stumper, Ryan Nageotte, has been busy saving the agricultural world from the perils of unbuffered streams and highly erodeable soils. Our great friends The Burnt River Drifter and the good Doc Caffee are in the yonder Western lands, gunslinging and swill drinking as best as they can.

That’s the news for now. I’m thinking I’ll update this every couple of Sunday’s, so check back when you can. And in the meantime, we hope to see you out somewhere on that long lonesome road. We’ll bring the guitars and stars and bars, you bring your dancin’ shoes, and we’ll all get down the best that we know how.

Good night,

David
